

When I scanned this image in from a photograph, I realized the high-speed scanner I was using gave me a half-tone image. I then scanned the image again multiple times but used different brightnesses. Now with multiple darknesses of the same picture, I was able to lay them over top of each other for a sense of value. I then adjusted the transparency of some layers to create the best representation of a gray-scale image.

This was the final image adjusted to allow for gray tones.

This is the final image after it was colorized. The color lacks the punch of actual re-colorization. However, by leaving them muted, the final image takes on a look that has a vintage "post card" feel, which I really quite enjoy.
